Lexapro indications

Lexapro is used to treat major depression or major depressive disorder (MDD) and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). Escitalopram increases selectively the activity of serotonin in the brain and thus improves the mental conditions in adult patients and adolescents. The treatment with Lexapro is prescribed by a doctor after careful examination and full history of a patient’s condition. MDD treatment and management Lexapro is used as a treatment for major depressive disorder in adults and in adolescent patients not younger than 12 years of age. MDD is characterized by depressive episodes, sadness, weight changes, mood changes, irritation, low concentration, suicidal thoughts and other symptoms which can be persistent or recurring. MDD impairs daily activities of a patient and affects his normal life. GAD treatment Lexapro is used as a treatment for GAD in adult patients with such signs and symptoms of anxiety as excessive anxiety and worry, persecution mania, problems with concentrating, irritation, muscle tension, insomnia and others.
